Blade Runner 2049's Opening Scene Tests Your Humanity
You took a Voight-Kampff test without knowing it...
It’s been a busy few months since my Conclave piece. I created The Projected Self’s YouTube channel. I’m excited to pull together topics that genuinely interest me and take deeper life lessons and meanings out of the films I love. Editing these videos is a total dive in the deep end, and 1am sessions of clipping milliseconds off clips has become a daily ritual.
My first video was on Blade Runner 2049’s opening scene, an idea which came to me one Tuesday afternoon. The core thought is, “What if Blade Runner 2049’s opening scene is actually a test of the audiences humanity?”. It was quite a journey to get this thought wrestled into a script and edit, but i’m super proud of how it came out.
I’ve got a tonne of video ideas I’m working on, and I’d love to hear what you think of this piece.
Hope you enjoy, please like, subscribe, and all of that good stuff.
